📅 September 22, 2026 (Tuesday) — Saddula Batukamma
Batukamma is the floral festival of Telangana — a nine-day celebration where women stack seasonal flowers in a cone shape and celebrate Goddess Gauri (Batukamma) with songs, dances, and offerings. It is unique to Telangana culture.
Significance
Batukamma means 'Mother, come alive!' — an invocation to the life-giving Goddess. The festival celebrates womanhood, nature, and the bond between women. It falls during Bhadrapada Amavasya (Mahalaya) and concludes on Durga Ashtami. The flowers used — Tangedu, Gunugu, Seenthalu — are all medicinal plants.
